An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Westchester's Jamie Loeb Loses In First Round At US Open OSSINING, N.Y. -- Jamie Loeb, an Ossining resident, was defeated in the first round of the US Open on Tuesday. Loeb lost to 4th seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. Loeb won the NCAA Women's Singles Tennis National Championship during her time at the University of North Carolina. She was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. She recently announced she was turning pro. The tennis star grew up playing at Ryder Park and was on the Ossining High School tennis team.

Westchester Committee Keeps Campaigns In Line WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- As election campaigns kick into gear, there's one group that's doing their best to make sure campaign material is fair and accurate. The Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee is a non partisan group of citizens that rule when a candidate complains about unfair campaign literature. The purpose of the committee is to promote a climate in which candidates conduct honest, fair and open campaigns, refraining from dishonest and defamatory attacks and without distorting the facts. Astorino To Speak At Stop Iran Rally WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is speaking at a Stop Iran rally in Manhattan Tuesday, calling on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand to oppose the Iran nuclear deal. Astorino will be joined by senator and presidential candidate Lindsey Graham, former senator Joe Lieberman and James Woosley , former director of the CIA. Sen. Chuck Schumer has already expressed his opposition to the deal.

Westchester Tennis Standout Jamie Loeb Competing In US Open OSSINING, N.Y. -- An Ossining resident is set to compete on one of tennis' biggest stages. Jamie Loeb, who won the NCAA Women's Singles Tennis National Championship, is competing in the US Open. Man, 22, Killed In Wrong Way Taconic Parkway Accident Remembered PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- Jeff Divine, a 22-year-old who was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle going the wrong way on the Taconic State Parkway early Sunday morning, is being remembered from his days as a student at Putnam Valley High School. Briarcliff House Fire Under Investigation BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- An early morning house fire on Locust Road in Briarcliff is currently under investigation. Firefighters responded to 311 Locust Road at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning, according to Mike Garcia, first assistant chief. It took firefighters about four hours to put out the blaze, and they were assisted by firefighters in Ossining, Croton and Millwood, Garcia said. Costco Plan On Agenda In Yorktown YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Planning Board will be hosting what is expected to be the final meeting on Costco as it paves the way for the wholesale warehouse store to come to Yorktown.
