Lawmakers React To Call To Dump Donald Trump Name From Westchester Park A bill from a state senator to take Republican presidential nominee frontrunner Donald Trump's name off Donald J. Trump State Park in Yorktown and Putnam Valley has drawn reaction from the towns' lawmakers. State Sen. Daniel Squadron (D-Brooklyn) sent a letter to Gov. Police Search For Man Who Tried To Lure Child Into Car In Peekskill PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill Police are looking for a man who attempted to lure an 8-year-old into his car on Saturday. On Dec. 12 at around 5:45 p.m., a father claimed his 8-year-old son had exited his house on Park Street when a white male between 40 and 50 years old with dark hair, clean shaven with a black hooded sweatshirt with front zipper and blue jeans began calling for the child across the street, according to Peekskill Police. Man Charged With Sex Abuse After Incident At Peekskill Shopping Center PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Jorge Hernandez, a Peekskill resident, was arrested and charged Wednesday with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony after an incident at Stop-n-Shop in November. According to Lt. John White, Hernandez inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl in an aisle at the supermarket located in the Beach Shopping Center. Westchester Vet Bert Ruiz Admits To Embellishing Vietnam Service BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Bert Ruiz, a Bedford resident who previously lived in Pleasantville and served as commander of American Legion Post 77 in the village for 10 years, has admitted to embellishing his service during the Vietnam War. Westchester Man Sentenced In Shotgun Shooting Of His Wife CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- Mario Vallorosi, a 78-year-old Cortlandt Manor resident, was sentenced Wednesday to 3.5 years in prison for shooting his 74-year-old wife. Vallorosi pleaded guilty to attempted assault in the first degree, a Class C violent felony in August, admitting to shooting his wife at close range with a shotgun in their home on Udell Court back in June 2013. Man Flees After Asking For Money At Peekskill CVS PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill Police are investigating after a man walked into CVS and asked for money in exchange for his ID Tuesday morning. According to Lt. James White, the man said his car had broken down and he needed money to get it repaired. When a CVS employee went to get the manager, the man left the store, White said. No weapon was displayed. "It was a very strange incident," White said. "He was clearly up to no good."

Sinkhole Closes Marble Avenue In Pleasantville PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Village officials said they expect Marble Avenue to be closed for several days following a major water main break that created a sinkhole. Water pressure has been restored in most places but Village Administrator Patty Dwyer said the intersection of Marble and Castleton Street has been badly undermined. Marble Avenue is open up to Sunnyside Avenue, Dwyer said. The village is asking people to avoid the area as crews will be working throughout the day.

Westchester Man Killed In Route 9 Crash ID'd CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Richard Zeoli, a 58-year-old Montrose resident, was identified as the victim in a one-car accident in Croton-on-Hudson early Thursday morning, according to Detective Sgt. John Nikotopolis of the Croton Police Department. Zeoli's car went down a ravine and struck a tree at the Croton Point Avenue exit on Route 9. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Nikotopolis said. Police are still investigating the accident. Zeoli was a resident of Coachlight Square in Montrose.
