Westchester Voters Excited To Have Voices Heard At Kasich Town Hall NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Voters in Westchester at a John Kasich Town Hall at Iona College said they were glad that for once they will have a say in picking the next president. Audrey Hochroth and Sal Barone have opened up Rooster's Wings and Brew at 1 Baker Street in Mohegan Lake. School Custodian Charged With Making Threats To Westchester Co-Worker BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- A police presence was increased at Briarcliff schools on Friday after a custodian at Todd Elementary School was charged with making threats to a co-worker on Thursday. Christopher Detlefsen, a 46-year-old resident of Milton, was arrested and charged with 3rd degree falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor, Village Manager Philip Zegarelli said. He was released on $10,000 bail and has been suspended with pay from the district, Zegarelli said. Detlefsen has been employed by the district for 15 years, Zegarelli said. Police Investigating Attempt To Lure Middle School Girl In Ossining OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining Police said a man tried to lure a girl into his van on Monday near Anne M. Dorner Middle School. The man was driving a white van and approached a middle school girl walking home from school at the intersection of Van Cortlandt Avenue and Route 9, police said. The man told the girl her mom had been in an accident and that she needed to come with him, police said. The girl waved him off and went home, police said. Dutchess Resident Gipson Running To Regain State Senate Seat DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Former State Senator Terry Gipson is throwing his hat back into the political ring. Gipson, a Rhinebeck resident, announced he intends to run against Senator Sue Serino in the 41st Senate District and win back the seat he lost to Serino in 2014.
