An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Tarrytown Celebrates Halloween With Annual Parade TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- One of Westchester's most spookiest villages celebrated Halloween in style Saturday. Thousands came out for Tarrytown's annual parade which featured more than 25 floats, stilt walkers, a magician, dancers and marching bands participating. The famed Headless Horseman even made an appearance. "The parade grows larger every year," said Joe Arduino, Tarrytown Recreation Department Administrator. “Participants come from the Bronx, Queens and New Jersey. It is a lot of fun." Kids Show Off Halloween Costumes At Briarcliff Ragamuffin Parade BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- It's not everyday you see Ginny Weasley, Mickey Mouse, Maleficent and Darth Vader walking down Pleasantville Road in Briarcliff. Lucy's, An Ossining Staple, Has Been Serving Up Slices For 23 Years OSSINING, N.Y. -- If you attended Ossining High School over the last 20 years, you've had a slice at Lucy's. Chances are, you've had many of them. The popular pizzeria has become an Ossining institution. Teen's Threat To School In Yorktown 'Inappropriate Joke,' Father Says YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Robert Mohr is concerned what he believes was an inappropriate joke by his son may ruin his life. Putnam Valley Student Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- Putnam Valley High School senior Mariana Silva is a National Merit Semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Semifinalists are the highest scoring entrants in the program and score in the top one percent nationally. Fair Campaign Committee Says Boak Acted 'Unfairly' In Race Against Murphy The Westchester Fair Campaign Practices Committee says the state senate campaign of Democratic candidate Ali Boak, a Pound Ridge resident, acted unfairly in some of its mailings and statements in her race to unseat Republican Terrence Murphy, a Yorktown resident. Donald Trump Won Refunds From Several Hudson Valley Municipalities Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president and a Bedford estate owner, has tried to lower his tax burden on some of his Hudson Valley properties. Trump fought to lower the assessment at Trump National in Briarcliff from $13.5 million to $1.4 million, according to the Journal News. In Trump's financial disclosures in 2015 and 2016, he said the 140-acre golf course was worth more than $50 million, according to Huffington Post. Car Pulled Out Of Water In Cortlandt CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- An unidentfied person managed to get out after a car plunged into the water in Cortlandt on Tuesday night. The Continental Village Fire Department was called to the scene when the vehicle went into the water at Roa Hook Road and Bear Mountain Bridge Road, according to authorities. The Peekskill Vehicle Ambulance Corps also responded. The vehicle was later pulled out of the water, according to authorities.
