Car Crashes Into Building In Croton CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A driver in Croton-on-Hudson received quite the scare Tuesday afternoon when his car crashed into the side of a building at the corner of  South Riverside Avenue and Wayne Street. The driver was pulling into a parking lot when the car accelerated. The driver said he stood on the brakes, but the car would not stop, according to an EMT at the scene. The driver refused medical attention.

Suspect With Stolen Gun Pleads Guilty To Fatal Shooting Of Peekskill Man PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A 25-year-old Peekskill resident pleaded guilty Monday to killing a man on Park Street in Dec. 2015. Janiel Myke had been charged with manslaughter in the first degree (a Class B violent felony) in the shooting death of 22-year-old Stephen Agosto of Peekskill. Myke shot Agosto three times with a stolen handgun in front of 1431 Park Street, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. Car Plunges Into Croton Swimming Pool CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A car in Croton was not ready to say goodbye to summer. On Monday night, an unoccupied vehicle wound up in a swimming pool at a home on Mount Airy Road West after the driver failed to put it in the correct gear, police said.  There were no injuries to anyone, including the car, according to the Croton Fire Department. The pool will likely be usable next season, the fire department said.
