Pets Get Dressed Up At Ossining Howloween Pet Parade OSSINING, N.Y. -- In Ossining, everyone loves to wear a costume on Halloween, even the family dog. The Ossining Chamber of Commerce held its 2nd annual Howloween Pet Parade on Saturday. Pets and their owners, both in costume, walked from the Ossining Elks Club to Mike Risko Music. The event featured activities for kids and pets along with live music. The grand prize was awarded to Mindee the cockapoo, dressed up as a cowgirl, for best costume. While the event featured mostly dogs, a guinea pig and a cat also joined in on the fun.

Mark McLaughlin, a senior at Yorktown High School, recently committed to swimming for the Providence Friars in the Big East with plans to officially sign his letter of intent in November. McLaughlin managed to achieve his scholarship despite only swimming varsity his sophomore year. The swim team was discontinued his junior year due to lack of participants. Marist Evacuates Students After Elevated Levels Of Carbon Monoxide Found POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Students were evacuated from a dorm at Marist College Monday morning after elevated levels of carbon monoxide were found, according to Greg Cannon, Chief Public Affairs Officer at Marist. There were no injuries or illnesses and the building was cleared once the carbon monoxide detector went off, Cannon said. Engineers and fire officials are on the scene to determine what caused the issue and to rectify it before students are let back in, Cannon said.
