I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Nyack Woman Convicted Of Slashing Man In Face NYACK, N.Y. -- Nyack resident Janice White, 41, has been convicted of slashing a man's face on Nov. 24, 2014, at Memorial Park in Nyack.The slashing caused a deep laceration from the victim's ear to the corner of his mouth. He required surgery and many stitches, including on the inside of his mouth, to close the wound. Police arrested White about one hour after the attack. She remains at the Rockland County Jail. Rockland Doctor Accused Of Sex Abuse WESTCHESTER, N.Y. – Police report that they have arrested Dr. Makar Eskarous, 49, of New City, on charges of sexual abuse, reports News 12. Eskarous, who practiced in Spring Valley, is accused of inappropriately touching a woman in front of a child during an office visit. Detectives allege that there are two other victims, and they believe more will come forward, according to News 12.
