I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Rockland County Drug Court Gets Grant To Treat DWI Offenders ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. – The U.S. Justice Department has awarded a $200,000 grant to the Rockland County Drug Court, lohud.com reported. The drug court provides treatment instead of prison time to drug users who plead guilty to nonviolent crimes.  The grant allows the court to provide treatment for drivers who plead guilty to misdemeanor DWI offenses, lohud reported.
