One Fisherman Rescued From Penfield Lighthouse As Second Swims To Safety FAIRFIELD, Conn. — They are lucky to be alive: The Fairfield Fire Department rescued a fisherman who became stranded out at Penfield Lighthouse early Thursday morning while a second fisherman was able to swim to safety from Penfield Reef. The department received a call at around 6:45 a.m. reporting a person in distress at Penfield Lighthouse.  Two Fairfield Fire Marine units immediately responded and began a search. Another Stamford Man Charged In Large-Scale Drug Operation STAMFORD, Conn. — Another Stamford man has been arrested as part of joint operation by the Stamford Police Department and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency that led to the arrest of 10 people last week. Timothy Armstrong, 48, of Stamford turned himself in on a warrant and was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, sale of narcotics and sale of marijuana. Stamford Man Who Made, Sold Bombs Arrested On Heroin Charges STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford man arrested in 2011 for making and selling pipe bombs while he was living in Bridgeport, was arrested this week in Stamford on heroin charges, according to the Stamford Advocate. Nicholas Lahines, 43, had been arrested on May 19, 2011, after law enforcement officers discovered that he was making and selling explosive devices from his Bridgeport apartment. The Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the area of 87 Dodgington Road in Bethel at around 3 p.m. on a report of a motor vehicle accident. 45-Year-Old Bridgeport Man Headed To Federal Prison For Heroin Trafficking BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was sentenced to nearly six years in prison for heroin trafficking, according to Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut. Alberto Colberg, 45, was sentenced Wednesday to 70 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
