Norwalk Handyman Charged With Stealing Checks From Westport Home WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged with stealing checks from a Westport resident and using them to steal $1,900, according to police. In December of 2016, Westport Police responded to a Newtown Turnpike home on a report of stolen checks. The victim said that multiple checks had been taken from his checkbook and cashed, police said. They had all been made out to "CASH" and had his signature forged on them, according to police. The total loss was $1,900. Westport Police Charge Woman With Using Stolen Credit Cards In 2015 WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Hartford woman was charged this week with stealing a Westport resident's credit card back in 2015 and using it to make hundreds of dollars worth of purchases. During the early morning hours of July 16, 2015, a Sterling Drive resident's car was broken into and his wallet and credit cards were stolen, police said.
