Norwalk Handyman Charged With Stealing Checks From Westport Home WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged with stealing checks from a Westport resident and using them to steal $1,900, according to police. In December of 2016, Westport Police responded to a Newtown Turnpike home on a report of stolen checks. The victim said that multiple checks had been taken from his checkbook and cashed, police said. They had all been made out to "CASH" and had his signature forged on them, according to police. The total loss was $1,900. Malloy Orders Flags To Be Flown At Half-Staff In Honor Of Las Vegas Victims FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has announced that U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will fly at half-staff this week in honor of the victims of Sunday night's mass shooting in Las Vegas. Malloy made his announcement in accordance with a proclamation from President Donald Trump directing flags to be lowered to honor the victims of the shooting, which left at least 50 people dead and hundreds injured. Suspect Wanted In Bridgeport Stabbing; Victim In Stable Condition BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 33-year-old man was stabbed in Bridgeport on Sunday night, and police are searching for a suspect, according to the Connecticut Post. The stabbing took place at around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Brookfield Avenue and Barnum Avenue, the Connecticut Post reported. Bridgeport Stair Climb Challenge Raises $37K For Homeless Veterans BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Nearly 200 veterans, fitness enthusiasts and supporters laced up their sneakers and climbed stadium stairs at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport to raise money for Homes for the Brave. Westport Police Charge Woman With Using Stolen Credit Cards In 2015 WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Hartford woman was charged this week with stealing a Westport resident's credit card back in 2015 and using it to make hundreds of dollars worth of purchases. During the early morning hours of July 16, 2015, a Sterling Drive resident's car was broken into and his wallet and credit cards were stolen, police said.
