Former Gov. Rowland Set To Be Released From Prison Early FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Former Gov. John Rowland is set to be released early from prison, where he is serving time after being found guilty in 2014 of conspiracy, campaign fraud and obstruction of justice, according to the Connecticut Post. Rowland, 60, a Republican, served as governor from 1995 to 2004, when he resigned in the wake of a corruption scandal. He served 10 months in prison and four months of house arrest after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, tax fraud and mail fraud in that case. Unseasonably Warm Temperatures, Rain To Continue This Week In Shelton FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Temperatures in Fairfield County are expected to remain unseasonably warm over the next couple days, with some rain also possible for this week. Music For Hope Concert In Darien Benefits Hurricane Victims DARIEN, Conn. – Local country western band Gunsmoke will perform a Music for Hope concert at the Piedmont Club in Darien on Friday, Oct. 20, with proceeds going toward hurricane relief in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. Police: Putnam Man, 25, Tried To Entice Boy Online Into Having Sex A 25-year-old Putnam man was charged with trying to entice a 16-year-old Stratford boy whom he met online to have sex with him, police said Thursday. On Wednesday, Dylan Quinn of Garrison turned himself in to officers at the Stratford Police Department as the result of a warrant issued for his arrest. Norwalk Sex Offender Charged With Loitering Near Soccer Practice NORWALK, Conn. — A 57-year-old registered sex offender from Norwalk was charged this week with loitering near a middle school soccer practice back in September, according to the Hour. New Canaan Father Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter In Heroin Overdose Of Son NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A New Canaan man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges after giving heroin to his son, who later died of an overdose, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police had arrested 58-year-old Mark Lynch in November after his son, Christopher Lynch, had fatally overdosed in September at the age of 25, according to police.
