Crews Continue To Battle Large Brush Fire In Bethel BETHEL, Conn. -- A brush fire at the Terre Haute property off Trowbridge Drive in Bethel has entered its third day, with crews from surrounding towns and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responding to assist Bethel crews. The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon, with the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department and Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company responding. Shelton Man Charged With Accidentally Shooting Himself At Norwalk Theater NORWALK, Conn. -- A Shelton man was arrested Thursday after accidentally shooting himself at a movie theater in Norwalk last month, according to police. At around 11 p.m. on Sept. 8, police responded to the Bow Tie Cinemas on Westport Avenue in Norwalk on a report of a man who had negligently shot himself in the leg. Arriving officers located 51-year-old Theo Thomopoulos of Shelton, who was inside the lobby suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg, police said. Norwalk Officer Awarded For Helping During Serious Accident NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Police Officer Dave Peterson was honored by the Connecticut State Police for his work providing aid after a motor vehicle accident. Peterson received a life saving award for providing aid at the scene of the serious accident. Peterson was off duty at the time of the accident.

Vehicle Fire Closes Lane On Merritt In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. -- A vehicle fire has closed one lane on the Merritt Parkway southbound in Greenwich Wednesday afternoon. The fire was reported at around 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the state Department of Transportation. The accident occurred on Route 15 southbound between exits 33 and 31 in Greenwich. Flyers Containing '#WhiteLivesMatter' Message Left At Wilton, Easton Homes WILTON, Conn. -- Flyers carrying a "White Lives Matter" message were left on the yards of several homes in Wilton and Easton, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
