Drones To Conduct Traffic Study On Black Rock Turnpike In Fairfield Today FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- There will drones in the area of Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield on Wednesday afternoon conducting a traffic study. Between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., a transportation planner and engineering firm will be conducting a traffic study on the Black Rock Turnpike business corridor. There will be seven commercial drones launched from three different locations between Samp Mortar Drive and Tunxis Hill Cutoff. State Board Of Ed Member From Trumbull Wanted Again On Probation Violation TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A member of the state Board of Education from Trumbull who was arrested on drunken driving arrests four times this year is being sought by police after failing to show up for a meeting with his probation officer, according to the Connecticut Post. Boughton To Pitch Danbury As Amazon Headquarters Despite State Decision DANBURY, Conn. – Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton will submit a bid directly to Amazon to select Danbury as a site for the company's new headquarters, despite the state choosing the Hartford and Stamford areas as Connecticut's official selection. Stamford Man Charged With Robbing Woman Of Cell Phone STAMFORD, Conn. — A 33-year-old man was charged with robbing a woman of her cell phone in Veterans Park in Stamford on Monday, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police told the Stamford Advocate that they were alerted by a Blue Light Emergency Phone on Monday morning. Windows Smashed In Car Break-Ins At Holmes School In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- The windows of two cars were smashed out and items were taken at Holmes School in Darien in two separate incidents last week, according to police. The first incident took place the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 2. Trumbull Teen Charged In Gunpoint Robbery Near Canoe Brook Lane TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A 17-year-old was arrested after two other teens reported that they were robbed at gunpoint in a secluded area along Canoe Brook Lane in Trumbull on Monday. Stamford Teen Busted With Loaded Semiautomatic Pistol STAMFORD, Conn. — A 17-year-old Stamford teen was caught with a loaded semiautomatic pistol on Friday, according to the Stamford Advocate. Multi-Million Dollar Shipment Of Fentanyl Seized On I-95 In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Two Rhode Island residents were arrested after police stopped their car on I-95 in Fairfield and found 5.5 kilograms of fentanyl worth $6 million, according to the Connecticut Post. On Saturday, Sept. 30, a trooper pulled over a 2017 Chevrolet Cruz near exit 21 on I-95 northbound after spotting it driving over 70 mph, the Connecticut Post reported.
