California Woman Charged In Stamford With Forging $110,000 Check STAMFORD, Conn. — A woman from San Diego was charged with forging a $110,000 check from a Stamford man's account and depositing it into her own account, according to the Stamford Advocate. The Stamford Advocate reported that the man filed a police report back in February, and a police investigation revealed the check had been written to 62-year-old Nanette Hayes of San Diego. Further investigation revealed that Hayes had also deposited a forged check worth $300,000 from New York, and had also sent large wire transfers to accounts all over the world, including London, South Africa and Russia,…

Stamford Men Caught With 9 Pounds Of Pot At Norwalk Hotel NORWALK, Conn. -- Police seized more than 9 pounds of marijuana from two Stamford men staying at a Norwalk hotel on Thursday afternoon, according to police. At around 4:30 p.m., officers from the Strategic Narcotics Enforcement Team were dispatched to the Courtyard Marriott hotel located on 474 Main Ave. in Norwalk. Norwalk Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Minor NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk man was charged with sexually assaulting a minor just before the man's wedding in 2015, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that a complaint was made in December 2015 by the child's mother and investigated by the Norwalk Police Special Victims Unit. Greenwich Man Charged With Possession Of Drugs, Sawed-Off Shotgun GREENWICH, Conn. — A Greenwich man was arrested after police found pills, marijuana, packaging materials and a sawed-off shotgun in his home, according to Greenwich Time. The arrest was the result of a six-month investigation into 27-year-old Marvin Gaspar of North Water Street, who police had learned was dealing drugs from his home, according to Greenwich Time.
