Ridea R. Ligi, 94, Longtime Ridgefield Resident RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridea R. Ligi, 94, of Ridgefield, wife of the late Navio Ligi and mother of the late Ridgefield Police Chief Richard J. Ligi, died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center in Ridgefield. Ligi was born in Meford, Mass. on March 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Augustino and Enrica (Giombetti) Fuligni. She attended Medford schools and was employed with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. A resident of Ridgefield since 1945, Ligi was employed with the Union Trust Company, was a member of Founders Hall and St. Mary’s Parish. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting…

Danbury To Dedicate Memorial Park To Fallen Heroes This Sunday DANBURY, Conn. – The city of Danbury will dedicate the newly built Police and Fire Memorial Park to pay tribute to heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty. Darien Man Charged With Operating Illegal Kennel Where Animals Were Abused DARIEN, Conn -- A Darien man was charged with operating an illegal kennel out of his home where one animal died and others were subjected to abuse, unsanitary conditions and neglect, according to police. Bridgeport Police ID Teen Shot Dead In Apparent Robbery BRIDGEPORT Conn. -- Bridgeport Police have identified a man found shot to death in an apparent robbery Wednesday afternoon as 18-year-old Jeri Kollock of Bridgeport. Former Wilton Preschool Aide Convicted For Child Porn Set To Be Released WILTON, Conn. -- A former Wilton preschool paraprofessional convicted of possession of child pornography is due to be released from prison this month after serving two years, according to the Wilton Bulletin. Eric Von Kohorn was arrested in 2014 and originally charged with first-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance. Ansonia Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Heroin Dealer In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- An Ansonia man pleaded guilty to killing a man in heroin deal gone wrong in Bridgeport back in 2015, according to the Connecticut Post. Mohamad Rahim, 26, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to the Sept. 27, 2015 killing of Duhaney Watson in Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post. Stamford Man Convicted In Shooting Arrested On Gun Charges STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford felon previously convicted of shooting a man in 2011 was arrested again after police found him with a loaded semiautomatic pistol on Tuesday night, according to the Stamford Advocate. Roland Newton, 29, had finished up a three year jail sentence in August on the armed robbery charges and is still on parole, the Stamford Advocate reported.
