Part Of Riverside Avenue In Westport Closed After Crash WESTPORT, Conn. -- Part of Riverside Avenue is closed in Westport Monday morning after a car hit a utility pole, causing traffic delays and power outages. The crash occurred at the intersection of Post Road West and Riverside Avenue, closing Riverside Avenue from Post Road to Lincoln Street. Police said that the road will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time, but it is expected to be a while. The traffic light at the intersection is also not functioning. Bridgeport Man Gets Prison For Throwing Brick That Killed Jeep Passenger BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 30-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced to prison on Friday after pleading guilty to throwing a brick at a car and killing a passenger, according to the Connecticut Post. Edy Morales, 41, was killed July 16, 2016, when he was a passenger in a Jeep traveling on Jane Street in Bridgeport. A group of people threw rocks, a brick and a metal pipe at the Jeep, police said. Student Hit By Car At Trumbull High School TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A 16-year-old student was injured when he was struck by a car driven by another student on a driveway adjacent to Trumbull High School Friday afternoon, according to police.
