Part Of Riverside Avenue In Westport Closed After Crash WESTPORT, Conn. -- Part of Riverside Avenue is closed in Westport Monday morning after a car hit a utility pole, causing traffic delays and power outages. The crash occurred at the intersection of Post Road West and Riverside Avenue, closing Riverside Avenue from Post Road to Lincoln Street. Police said that the road will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time, but it is expected to be a while. The traffic light at the intersection is also not functioning. Temps To Drop This Week After Warm, Rainy Monday In Shelton FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Unseasonably warm temperatures will accompany the rainy weather in Fairfield County on Monday, though the skies will clear up and temperatures will drop to more normal levels for the rest of this week. Monday will see showers throughout the day and possibly a thunderstorm after noon, according to the National Weather Service. Police: Norwalk Man Prompted His Dog To Attack Elderly Man NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk man was charged with prompting his dog to bite an elderly man on the arm and causing serious injuries after an argument back in September, according to the Hour. Police responded to Roodner Court on the night of Sept. 18 on a report of a man who had been bitten by a dog and was seriously injured, the Hour reported. Bridgeport Man Gets Prison For Throwing Brick That Killed Jeep Passenger BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 30-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced to prison on Friday after pleading guilty to throwing a brick at a car and killing a passenger, according to the Connecticut Post. Edy Morales, 41, was killed July 16, 2016, when he was a passenger in a Jeep traveling on Jane Street in Bridgeport. A group of people threw rocks, a brick and a metal pipe at the Jeep, police said. Morales was hit in the head by the brick and later died of his injuries, according to police. Three Arrested In Drug Raids In Norwalk; Police Seize Marijuana, Cocaine NORWALK, Conn. -- Three people were arrested in a pair of drug raids in Norwalk conducted Friday by Norwalk and Stamford police. Police said that during September, the Norwalk Police Special Services Division and the Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime unit conducted a joint investigation into Wilbur Serrano, 28, of Norwalk, who was believed to be dealing drugs. Student Hit By Car At Trumbull High School TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A 16-year-old student was injured when he was struck by a car driven by another student on a driveway adjacent to Trumbull High School Friday afternoon, according to police. The incident took place on an access road between the high school and Hillcrest middle school.
