Unlocked Audi With Keys Inside Stolen Out Of Darien Driveway DARIEN, Conn. -- A 2014 Audi Q7 was stolen from a driveway in Darien this weekend after the owner left it unlocked with the keys inside, police said. At around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, the Half Mile Road resident went out to his driveway and noticed that his Audi was missing. He told police that he had parked it in his driveway at around 9:30 p.m. the night before, and that he had left it unlocked with the keys inside. Police said that no evidence was located at the scene, and a neighborhood canvass yielded no results.

Newtown Public School District Website Hacked; Police Patrols Added NEWTOWN, Conn. — The Newtown Public School District website was one of 800 across the country that was hacked on Monday morning, according to NBC Connecticut. Visitors were greeted with a picture of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and a message in Arabic that said, "There is no God but God. Mohamad is the profit of God," NBC Connecticut Reported. A group called Team System DZ, which was blamed for hacking local government websites over the summer, took responsibility for the 4 a.m. hack, according to NBC Connecticut. Wallet Stolen From Unlocked Car In Easton EASTON, Conn. -- A wallet was stolen from a car that was left unlocked in Easton over the weekend. A resident came to police headquarters on Saturday and reported that sometime during the evening, someone had ransacked his car, which had been left unlocked. He reported that his wallet was stolen, which contained his personal ID, assorted credit cards and some cash, police said. He told police that the keys were left inside the car, but the car was not taken.

Break-In Of Unlocked Car Reported In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Someone entered an unlocked car in Darien and rifled through the glove box this weekend, police said. At around 7 a.m. Sunday, a Sherry Lane resident got into her 2015 Mercedes ML350 and noticed the glove box and center console were ajar, and the contents had been rifled through, police said. She said that she had parked her car in front of the garage at around 7 p.m. the night before, and left the car unlocked. Westport Firefighters Put Out Blaze Near Fireplace In Colonial Road Home WESTPORT, Conn. -- A house in Westport filled up with smoke due to a blaze around the fireplace on what turned out to be a very busy Monday for the Westport Fire Department. Shortly before 11 a.m., Westport Fire Dispatch received a report of smoke in the building at 9 Colonial Road. Three engines, a ladder truck and two command staff vehicles arrived to find the house filling with smoke. Norwalk Man Charged With Assaulting Girlfriend In Trumbull On Halloween TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was arrested on felony charges after police said he assaulted his girlfriend in Trumbull on Halloween night. Trumbull Police met with the girlfriend at a relative's home on Tuesday, Oct. 31, and she had visible cuts and bruises on her face, police said. The woman said that she and 36-year-old Richard Salazar of Norwalk had been at the home for Halloween, and that Salazar was drinking heavily, according to police. Fairfield Daycare Owner Pleads No Contest In Death Of Shelton Baby FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield woman arrested after a 4-month boy from Shelton died at an unlicensed daycare she ran out of her home, has pleaded no contest to second-degree manslaughter, according to the Connecticut Post. Carol Cardillo, 53, was charged last September in connection with the March 22, 2016 death of Adam Seagull, who died while in her care at a daycare she ran out of her Edgewood Road home in Fairfield. Police: Trumbull Man Caught Driving With Heroin, Gun In His Car TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Trumbull man was arrested after a traffic stop last week when police found a gun, a knife, heroin and marijuana in his car, according to police. At around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, an officer pulled over a car on Main Street for a license plate violation and because the car was unregistered, police said. The officer detected the odor of marijuana, and had the driver, identified as 26-year-old Mark Sicilian of Trumbull, get out of the car, police said. Darien Police: Man Struck Ex-Girlfriend, Smashed Her Phone And Took Her Car DARIEN, Conn. — A New Haven man was charged with striking his ex-girlfriend and taking her car in Darien after an argument that began after she refused to give him a ride home, according to police.
