Golf Cart Totaled At Country Club In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Someone drove a golf cart into a water hazard on the 13th hole of the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien last week, according to police. Officers were dispatched to the club on Thursday, July 27 on a report of damage to a golf cart. The complainant said that four people had used the cart the day prior, leaving it parked near the 13th hole for a period of time in the afternoon. Newtown Man, 72, Charged With Sexually Assaulting Minors NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A 72-year-old Newtown man was charged with sexually assaulting minors several times over a period of several years, according to police. Police charged Richard Saunders with four counts each of fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and impairing the morals of a child. The investigation was led by School Resource Officer William Chapman based on reported incidents of sexual contact between Saunders and minor children over the past several years, according to police. Two Men Arrested On Drug Charges In Bridgeport After Shooting BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Two men were arrested in Bridgeport Monday night after one of them fired off a gun and police found three pounds of marijuana, according to the Connecticut Post. Police responded to Trojan Drive Monday night on a report of shots fired and arrived to find one man standing in the street shirtless, holding a gun, the Connecticut Post reported. Ladder Used To Break Into Home In Wilton WILTON, Conn. -- Someone used a ladder to break into a Wilton home and steal electronics on Monday afternoon, police said. A homeowner on St. Johns Road left their residence at around 12:30 p.m. Monday and returned at 5:30 p.m. to find that the home had been broken into and ransacked, police said. Multiple electronic items were missing from the home, as well as various other household goods, according to police. Police determined that entry into the home was made through a rear second story window using a ladder. The case is currently open and under investigation.

Norwalk Police Charge Fairfield Man With Sexual Assault NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk Police charged a Fairfield man with sexual assault after an incident Monday where he was accused of inappropriately touching and attacking a woman, according to the Hour. Teen In Aunt's Lexus Leads Police On High-Speed Chase Through Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- A 16-year-old who took his aunt's Lexus from their home in North Haven led police on a pursuit that reached up to 80 mph in a 30 mph zone in Darien before he was finally arrested in Norwalk. Just before 3 a.m. state police were advised that the 16-year-old had taken the car and was driving south on I-95. Police To Crack Down On Distracted Driving In Shelton This Month FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Police across Connecticut will be cracking down on distracted driving over the next two weeks during the next phase of the Department of Transportation's "U Drive. U Text. U Pay." initiative. Greenwich Police Investigate Report of Sexual Assault GREENWICH, Conn. — Greenwich Police are investigating a rape that reportedly took place in town, according to Greenwich Time. Police responded to Stamford Hospital at around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday after a woman reported a past sexual assault that took place in Greenwich at some point in the past, according to Greenwich Time.
