Stamford Teen Arrested After Rummaging Through Car STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 16-year-old Stamford teen was arrested after someone caught him rummaging through their car early Tuesday morning, according to the Stamford Advocate. At around 2 a.m. a resident of Lanark Road in Stamford heard his dog bark and saw lights from a motion detector go on, which allowed him to see the 16-year-old going through the car and looking through the driveway, the Stamford Advocate reported. Stamford Police Continue To Crack Down On Distracted Driving STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Police are continuing to crack down on distracted driving in the city, and is hiring more officers to conduct enforcement.The Stamford Police Department announced Monday that it hired a few officers on a grant to conduct enforcement, as opposed to officers who conduct enforcement between calls for service. Darien Woman Falls Victim To Time Share Fraud Scheme DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien woman lost more than $4,000 after falling victim to a time share scheme this year, according to police. The 65-year-old resident told police that she owned a time share property in Cancun, and that in April she was contacted by a person calling himself "Andrew Castro," who claimed to work for a company called "International Real Estate Sales" in Chicago, police said. Charges Dropped Against Stratford Parole Officer Accused Of Kidnapping Baby STRATFORD, Conn. -- Charges have been dropped against a state parole officer and her boyfriend who were accused of breaking into an apartment and kidnapping a 1-year-old, according to the Connecticut Post. A judge dismissed the charges against 51-year-old Gladys Marquez and her boyfriend, 52-year-old Edgardo Soberal after prosecutors said they were dropping the charges, the Connecticut Post reported. Danbury Motorcyclist Killed In Crash Near Bethel Town Line DANBURY, Conn. -- A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on South Street in Danbury on Sunday, Aug. 6, police said.
