Part Of Dearfield Drive In Greenwich Closed After Tree Takes Down Wires GREENWICH, Conn. -- Part of Dearfield Drive in Greenwich is closed Friday afternoon due to a large tree and wires down in the area.The road is closed between West Putnam Avenue and Lake Avenue, according to the Greenwich Dispatch Center. Eversource is responding to the area. As of 2 p.m., there were 388 Eversource customers without power in Greenwich, representing about 1 percent of customers.

Bridgeport Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of Teen That Left Her Pregnant BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was charged with sexual assault after a 15-year-old girl told police that he impregnated her and gave her a venereal disease, according to the Connecticut Post. The girl told police that she had met 21-year-old Hasan Khalid over social media, and that he had invited her over to his house, the Connecticut Post reported. When she got there, she said he ripped off her clothes and sexually assaulted her, laughing as he did it, according to the Connecticut Post. Connecticut Among The Strictest States When It Comes To DUI Arrests FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Drunk driving is estimated to result in about 10,000 deaths, one million arrests and $44 billion in economic damage each year, and Connecticut is one of the strictest states when it comes to addressing driving under the influence, according to a new study. NEW MILFORD, Conn. -- A plane crashed in New Milford near the Sherman border Friday morning, according to WFSB. The crash occurred on Green Pond Road at around 10 a.m. Friday, WFSB reported. Seen Him? Stratford Police Seek Suspect In Stolen Truck Case STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford Police are asking for the public's help locating a man wanted for questioning regarding a stolen pickup. The stolen car is a black 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck with a Virginia license plate reading VSL2979. Man Taken To Hospital After Early Morning Scooter Accident In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. — A man suffered serious injuries early Thursday morning after getting into an accident on his scooter in Norwalk, according to the Hour. The accident took place on Soundview Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. when the man's scooter hit a parked car, the Hour reported. Police responded to the area and found him suffering from serious injuries, and he was taken to Norwalk Hospital, according to the Hour. Man Turned Down For Stamford Job Charged With Threatening Interviewer STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Police charged a Milford man with threatening to shoot the person who interviewed him for a security guard position, according to the Stamford Advocate. Danbury Native Austin Calitro Signs With San Francisco 49ers DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury native Austin Calitro signed a two-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, the team announced. The 23-year-old Calitro attended Danbury High School and Villanova University.
