Norwalk Police Officers Complete D.A.R.E. Instructor Training NORWALK, Conn. -- Two Norwalk police officers are ready to teach kids the skills to resist drugs and violence.Officer Andy Kovlakas and Officer T.J. Garbera recently graduated from the D.A.R.E. Instructor Training Class. They will work as School Resource Officers during the upcoming school year. Norwalk has eight School Resource Officers, most of whom teach D.A.R.E.

Stamford Man Charged With Putting Gun To Ex-Girlfriend's Head STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man cut off his monitoring ankle bracelet to avoid police detection after he threatened his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint, according to police. At around noon on Tuesday, police received a report of domestic violence involving a handgun in the Glenbrook area of Stamford. Monroe Man Charged With Assault After Woman Overdoses On Heroin MONROE, Conn. -- A 21-year-old Monroe man was charged with assault in connection with an overdose of a woman who bought Fentanyl-laced heroin from him in July, according to the Connecticut Post. Nicholas Ludwig had earlier been arrested on drug sale charges following the July 2 overdose of a woman in Monroe, the Connecticut Post reported. Stray Bullet Shatters Window Of Norwalk Apartment NORWALK, Conn. — A stray bullet went through the window of an apartment in South Norwalk early Tuesday morning following a shooting, according to the Hour. Police responded to the Carlton Court apartment complex off Monterey Place at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday on a report of shots fired, the Hour reported. Juveniles Arrested After Car Chase From Westport Ends With Crash In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- Seven juveniles were arrested after leading police on a chase in a stolen car from Westport to Norwalk before crashing it on the Route 7 connector early Wednesday morning. At around 3:30 a.m. Westport Police were dispatched to Chapel Hill Road on a report of a motor vehicle theft in progress. Dozens Of Bottles Of Wine Reported Stolen From Darien Home DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien man who has put his Leeuwarden Road home up for sale discovered that at least 24 bottles of wine had been stolen from his wine cellar, police said. The 63-year-old man reported the theft on Sunday, July 30. He told police that he had been away for a period of a few weeks, and had discovered on July 27 that between 24 and 36 bottles of wine were missing from his wine cellar. iPad Stolen From Unlocked Car In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Someone stole an iPad from a BMW left unlocked in a driveway on Rainbow Circle in Darien last week. At around 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, police responded to the home on a report of two unlocked cars being entered. The owner said that he had last seen the cars at 8:30 p.m. the night before, but that morning found they had been entered. Bridgeport Man Charged With 2010 Sexual Assault Of Child In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. — A 34-year-old Bridgeport man was charged on Monday with sexual assaulting a minor in Norwalk in 2010, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that Manuel Jurado-Crisostomo turned himself in on a warrant and was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
