Greenwich Homes, Gas Station Broken Into Over Weekend GREENWICH, Conn. — Two residences and a gas station were broken into over the weekend in Greenwich, according to Greenwich Time. Police told Greenwich Time that the residential burglaries were likely related and crimes of opportunity. The first occurred on Hamilton Avenue, when someone broke a window at around 10 p.m. on Saturday and stole some cigarettes that were near the window, according to Greenwich Time. Norwalk Police Warn Of Fraud Scheme Targeting Landscapers NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Police are warning about a new fraud scheme that is hitting area landscapers. Police said that under the scam, a person will contact a landscape company and request services. The person will agree to pay the landscaper for services, but also asks if he can pay additional money. The suspect then requests that the landscaper pay the additional funds to a subcontractor, such as a plumber or electrician, who will also be doing work at the location, police said. Norwalk Homeowner Fights Off Would-Be Car Thief NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man fought off someone trying to steal his car on Sunday, according to police.A Sunwich Road homeowner discovered a male in his driveway on Sunday who was trying to steal his car, police said. Bridgeport Man Pleads Guilty To Supplying Heroin In Fatal Monroe Overdose BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man pleaded guilty to selling heroin to a man who died later of an overdose in Monroe. Careem Bentley, also known as "C-Lows," 34, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty Monday in New Haven federal court to one count of distribution of heroin, according to Deirdre M. Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. — A 49-year-old man was hit and killed by a car on Main Street in Norwalk on Saturday, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that Willia Padilla-Rivera of Stamford was walking in the area of 205 Main St. when he was hit by a car traveling southbound. Padilla-Rivera was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, the Hour reported. The driver stopped after the accident and was cooperating with police, according to the Hour. Pizza Delivery Man Assaulted During Robbery In Trumbull TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A pizza man was attacked and robbed by a group of young men as he made a delivery to an Old Town Road address in Trumbull on Friday, according to police. At around 9:30 p.m., the delivery man was bringing a pizza to an address located in the Royce complex on Old Town Road. Norwalk Man Charged With Manslaughter After Fatal Overdose NORWALK, Conn. -- An accused Norwalk drug dealer has been charged with manslaughter following the overdose death of a man in Norwalk on July 22, according to police. The fatal overdose was one of seven overdoses reported in Norwalk on July 22, all involving crack cocaine laced with Fentanyl, police said. Accused Dealer Charged With Assault After Norwalk Overdose NORWALK, Conn. -- A Waterbury man who was charged last month with selling Fentanyl-laced crack is now facing assault charges in connection with one of seven heroin overdoses that occurred in a single day in Norwalk in July, police said. Driver In Bridgeport Fatal Crash Who Fled Police Arraigned On Drug Charges BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man, who police say fled from officers and caused a crash that left one person dead and two injured, was arraigned on drug charges Friday and held on a $350,000 bond. Joseph Guzman-Rivera, 21, of Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport, was arraigned on several drug charges from state police and appeared in court with his arm in a cast and a black eye, the Connecticut Post reported.
