Westport Selectmen Sign ADL Petition Against Hate WESTPORT, Conn. -- All three members of the Westport Board of Selectman have signed a petition by the Anti-Defamation League imploring President Donald Trump to publicly and unequivocally disavow white supremacy. Brookfield Warns Of Telemarketers Posing As Town Officials BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Brookfield officials are warning residents about a string of telemarketer calls trying to disguise themselves as coming from the "Town of Brookfield."Officials have received reports from residents of a large number of calls where the called ID says it is coming from the "Town of Brookfield." Car Stolen From Stamford Recovered In Norwalk After Crash NORWALK, Conn. -- A car stolen from Stamford was recovered in Norwalk Wednesday morning following a crash. Norwalk Police said the car had been reported stolen out of Stamford earlier in the month. It was recovered Wednesday morning after it crashed on Rowayton Avenue. Witnesses told police that two young males were seen fleeing from the vehicle. Police responding to the crash searched the area but the suspects were not located.

Woman Robs Chase Bank In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A woman stole about $500 during a bank robbery in Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon, according to the Connecticut Post. The robbery took place at the Chase Bank on Boston Avenue at around 3 p.m., the Connecticut Post reported. A white woman wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses walked in and handed a teller a note demanding money, according to the Connecticut Post. Bridgeport Man Charged With Fatally Shooting Neighbor BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was charged with murder after police say he shot his neighbor last month, according to the Connecticut Post. The murder of 44-year-old Ronald Simmons took place on July 2 in an apartment building near the intersection of Norman Street and Freemont Street, the Connecticut Post reported. Juveniles Arrested In Stolen Car After Chase In Stratford STRATFORD, Conn. — Five teens crashed a stolen car and tried to run away after leading police from Stratford Wednesday morning, according to state police. State police were informed by Stratford police at around 3:40 a.m. that they were in pursuit of a stolen Jeep on I-95 north near exit 34 in Milford, police said. Stratford officers called off their pursuit at around exit 36, and troopers saw the Jeep near exit 37 and tried to pull it over. Darien Baseball Player Breaks NY High School Pitching Record DARIEN, Conn. -- Enzo Stefanoni of Darien set a new record for New York state this spring for the most all-time high school varsity pitching wins with 43 wins in his career at Rye Country Day School in Rye, N.Y. No other pitcher at any public, private, or Catholic high school in New York State history has ever reached the 40-win mark. Silver Alert Issued For 65-Year-Old Trumbull Woman Missing For A Week TRUMBULL, Conn. — Trumbull Police issued a Silver Alert Tuesday for a 65-year-old woman, who has been missing for about a week. Police said Beverly Bisch, who lives in Stern Village in Trumbull, was last seen at about 7 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8 at the Bridgeport Railroad Station where she was dropped off there by a friend.
