Former Hobnobbin' Pub Reopens As Gibson's In Town Of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – A new bar and restaurant will open at the sight of the Hobnobbin’ Pub, a town institution that closed in October after 30 years in operation.
The new business, named Gibson’s as a nod to the restaurant – Gibson’s Colonial Inn – that first opened at the site in 1937, will serve American cuisine, including hamburgers and steaks, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal, which reported that it is set to open on Monday, Jan. 2.
The restaurant at 11 Vassar Road will employ about 25 people, including several who worked at the former Hobnobbin’ Pub, according to the Journal.
