United For The Troops Ships 1000 Holiday Care Packages From Shrub Oak SHRUB OAK, N.Y. – Shrub Oak postal employees joined a local charity recently to bring the warmth of the holiday season to troops overseas. According to a statement from United For the Troops, a Carmel-based nonprofit that supports active United States servicemen and women, the postal workers and volunteers packed and shipped 1,000 holiday care packages from the Shrub Oak Post Office one recent Sunday. Putnam Man Burglarized Same Home Twice, Police Say PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – A Philipstown man accused of burglarizing the same house twice is facing a host of felony charges, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. James A. Pidala was arrested by Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 16 in connection with two burglaries at a Nelsonville home, authorities said. Pet Owner Seeks Missing Cat In Patterson PATTERSON, N.Y. -- A Patterson cat owner is asking the public's help in finding Tigger, a brown, gray and black cat missing since Tuesday night.The pet went missing from his home on Ravina Road near the Putnam Lake area around 10:30 p.m., according to a flier posted on the Putnam Humane Society's Facebook page on Wednesday. While the cat is predominantly brown, gray and black, his paws are white, according to the flier, which said that he is wearing a blue collar with his name on it. Norwalk Police Recognizes Narcotics Officers For November Drug, Gun Busts NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Police Department has named officers Brian Barrett, Richard Holmes, Owen Lee and David Geismar as November’s Officers of the Month. Bridgeport Police: Man Lied About Robbery, Was Stabbed By Girlfriend BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A 39-year-old woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the chest is facing an assault charge in Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post. Maritza Nieves’ boyfriend initially told police Monday that he was stabbed by “some men during a robbery,” according to the Post, which reported that police suspected he was lying because nothing was taken from him and he could not describe his attackers.
