Trumbull Mother Charged With Beating 6-Year-Old Son With Belt
TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The mother of a 6-year-old Trumbull student was arrested on multiple charges after police said she struck the boy with a belt, according to the Trumbull Times. The 35-year-old woman, whose name was not released to protect the child's identity, was arrested on March 30 and charged with risk of injury to a minor and third-degree assault, according to the Times. The boy, who apparently was told by his mother not to say anything about the bruises, cuts and scabs on his body, did not require immediate medical attention, according to the Times. Norwalk Man Charged With Rolling Over Car In Wilton Police Chase
WILTON, Conn. — A 29-year-old Norwalk man was arrested early Monday after rolling a car on Route 7 while allegedly trying to evade pursuing police officers, police said. Luigi Lombardi, 125 Perry Ave., was driving a 2003 Lexus with three 28-year-old passengers when he failed to dim his high beams as a police officer approached from the southbound lane of Route 7 near Honey Hill Road, according to Wilton police. RAMAPO -- The town of Ramapo will enforce its fire and zoning codes or run the risk of state intervention, according to lohud.com. RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Two Ramapo police officers were honored recently during the Mid-Hudson Region's STOP-DWI Award Ceremony, according to a statement from the town's police department.Officers J. CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The Chappaqua school district's Board of Education has adopted a budget proposal that is set to go to a public vote on May 17.The $118.2 million proposal would increase spending by $323,600, or .27 percent, over the previous year's budget, according to the district.
