Fairfield County Man Arrested For Home Invasion, Beating Woman, Police Say A Connecticut man allegedly forced his way into a women's home and dragged her outside where he beat her. The incident took place at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 23 in Fairfield County. According to Greenwich Police, Jaiden Parker, 24, of Greenwich, forced his way into the home where the victim was sleeping. Parker allegedly then dragged the woman outside and threw her on the concrete and began to assault her, Greenwich Police said. Woman Shot Inside House During Drive-By Shooting On Long Island A Long Island woman was hit by a stray bullet inside her home during a drive-by shooting. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 10 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24 in North Amityville. According to detectives, officers responded to a residence located at 26 Benjoe Drive after several shots were fired at the house from a passing vehicle. Seven Long Island Beaches Closed Due To High Levels Of Bacteria Due to heavy bacteria levels from runoff, seven Long Island beaches have been closed. The beaches, all in Suffolk County, are closed on Wednesday, Aug. 25, or until further notice due to bacteria at levels in excess of acceptable criteria, said the Suffolk County Health Department. The beaches closed are: Gold Star Battalion Park in Huntington Harbor Venetian Shores in Babylon Corey Bayport West Islip Amityville Sayville Marina Park beaches  Tanner Park and Benjamin beaches also remain closed.

CT Teen Nabbed In Stolen Vehicle Following Crash, State Police Say A teen was apprehended by Connecticut State Police after allegedly stealing a vehicle from an I-95 rest area and then crashing. The incident unfolded in New Haven County a little after 4 p.m., Monday, Aug. 23, when state police were notified of a Range Rover with stolen plates driving erratically on I-95 in Madison. Two Women Wanted For Using Stolen Credit Cards In Fairfield County, Police Say Police are asking the public for help identifying two women wanted in connection with a burglary. The theft took place in Fairfield County on Thursday, Aug. 19 at the Crunch Fitness Gym located at 770 Connecticut Ave., in Norwalk. Long Island Teen Dies In Crash After Hitting Tree A Long Island teen was killed after losing control of an Infiniti G37 and hitting a tree. Suffolk County resident Michael Seda, age 18, of Hauppauge, was killed around 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 22, in Smithtown, said Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim. According to Ahlgrim, Seda was driving on the Sunken Meadow Parkway south of Pulaski Road in Smithtown when the crash occurred.
