She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Suspect Flees On Foot After 15-Year-Old Girl Shot On Long Island, Police Say Police on Long Island are investigating the shooting of a 15-year-old girl. The shooting took place around 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, in Mastic, at the Poospatuck Indian Reservation, said the Suffolk County Police. According to detectives, the girl was outside on Abby Lane when she was shot in the foot by an unknown individual. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor injuries. No arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Five Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash In Fairfield County At least five people were injured in Fairfield County when a person allegedly driving a stolen vehicle while under the influence slammed into other cars, authorities said. The crash took place around 7:20 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, on North Avenue in Bridgeport. CT Man Sentenced For Fraud, Identity Theft Offenses A Connecticut man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for fraud and identity theft offenses stemming from involvement in a scheme to use stolen identities to lease and purchase vehicles and motorcycles. Cow Crashes Into Car On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway An area driver received a minor injury after striking a cow that was in the roadway in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place around 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28 in Red Hook in Dutchess County. Alert Issued For Missing 17-Year-Old Suffolk County Girl Police on Long Island are asking the public for help locating a missing teen. Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate a Saint James teen who was reported missing. Man Nabbed With Illegal Handgun During Traffic Stop In Area, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was arrested for allegedly driving without a valid license and criminal possession of a weapon. Dutchess County resident Kwesi Paul, age 42, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested around 1 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27 after being stopped by New York State Police on Route 44. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, Paul was stopped in 2013 Chrysler 200 for violations of the vehicle and traffic law on Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley. Man, Woman Nabbed For Robbery At CT Stop & Shop A Connecticut man and woman have been arrested for allegedly robbing a supermarket using a taser. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, when the Old Saybrook Police Department in Middlesex County received a 911 call from an employee at the Super Stop & Shop, located at 105 Elm St. According to Old Saybrook Chief of Police Michael A. Man Accused Of Selling Fentanyl At Hotel, Mall In Hudson Valley An area man faces up to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing fentanyl at a hotel and a mall. Timothy Schleede, age 30, of Lake Katrine, in Ulster County, pled guilty to one count of distribution of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute on Friday, Oct. 22, according to US Attorney Carla B.
