Duo Nabbed For Firing Gun From Vehicle In Fairfield County, Police Say Two Fairfield County men have been arrested for allegedly firing gunshots out of a car while driving around the region.  John Blackwell, age 31, and Alston Powell, age 53, both of Bridgeport, were arrested by Fairfield Police after police responded to 911 calls of shots fired in the area of Fairfield Woods Road and Stillson Road. The fire started around 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, at a home located at 646 Hallett St., in Bridgeport. Person Struck By Lirr Train A man standing on tracks of the Long Island Rail Road was seriously injured after being struck by an eastbound train. According to officials, the person was struck around 12:50 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 9 near the New Hyde Park station.  The 12:14 a.m. train originated from Penn Station en route to Ronkonkoma, MTA officials said.
