Dental Chain Used Deceptive Ads To Cheated Patients In New England, Lawsuit Says Thousands of Massachusetts patients were allegedly victimized through deceptive advertising by Aspen Dental, according to a lawsuit filed against the dental giant. On Thursday, Dec. 9, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey filed a lawsuit against Aspen Dental alleging the dental chain cheated thousands of Massachusetts consumers through a series of bait and switch advertising campaigns. The complaint alleges that Aspen Dental violated the state Consumer Protection Law and the assurances Aspen Dental made to the AG’s Office in a 2014 settlement addressing similar conduct. …

Police Chase Of Fairfield County Shooter Ends With Crash, Police Say One person was injured following a police chase involving an alleged shooter in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:20 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, when the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls and a shot spotter notification of shots fired in the area of Stratford and Union avenues. Police In Hudson Valley Asking For Help Solving Shooting Murder Case Following Crash Police in the Hudson Valley are asking the public for help to solve a murder case in which the victim was found wounded following a car crash. The incident took place in the City of Poughkeepsie on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019. According to Det. Lt. Two Nabbed In Armed Home Invasion Robbery In Area, Police Say Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged armed home invasion robbery. On Monday, Nov. 29, around 9:20 a.m., the Sullivan County 911 received a report of an assault that had just occurred on the grounds of the Hebrew Day School in Lake Kiamesha, said Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office. Covid-19: New CT Town Reinstates Mask Mandate After Resident Tests Positive For Omicron Variant A new Connecticut town has reinstated its indoor mask mandate after a resident tested positive for the COVID-19 variant, Omicron. Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett signed an executive order to reinstate the indoor mask mandate effective Saturday, Dec. 11, town officials said. Hudson Valley Woman Charged With Stabbing Murder Of Long Island Man, Police Say A woman from the region has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a Long Island man to death. Dutchess County resident Veronica Hardwick, age 51, Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 9 for the stabbing which took place on Thursday, Nov. 25 in Hempstead. According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers responded to 600 Fulton Avenue for a report of a man that had been stabbed in the chest. Duo Nabbed For Firing Gun From Vehicle In Fairfield County, Police Say Two Fairfield County men have been arrested for allegedly firing gunshots out of a car while driving around the region. John Blackwell, age 31, and Alston Powell, age 53, both of Bridgeport, were arrested by Fairfield Police after police responded to 911 calls of shots fired in the area of Fairfield Woods Road and Stillson Road. Two Injured After Vehicle Crashes Into Fairfield County Building, Police Say Two drivers in Fairfield County were taken to the hospital after a multi-car crash in which one of the vehicles crashed into a building. $20,000 Reward Offered In Hudson Valley Murder Case Police in the Hudson Valley are offering a $20,000 reward for an arrest in the 20-year-old murder of an area woman. On Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, Nancy Smith, a 32-year-old Orange County resident was found dead in her house on Provost Drive in New Windsor.
