An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Ossining Rooftop Collapses, Swallows Four Cars OSSINING, N.Y. -- A rooftop parking lot at 25 Croton Ave. in Ossining collapsed on Wednesday night, swallowing four cars. Ossining firefighters responded to the scene at 10 p.m. with the incident initially reported as a sinkhole, according to the Ossining Fire Departmen Facebook page.  Firefighters arrived at the scene and found four vehicles sinking into the ground, according to the fire department. Republicans Sweep Yorktown Special Elections YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Republicans Greg Bernard and Tom Diana were elected to the Yorktown Town Board in a special election Tuesday night. With 42 out of 43 districts reporting, Diana defeated Democrat Robert Giordano 55 percent to 45 percent and Bernard defeated Roseanne Brackett 59 percent to 41 percent.
