Firefighters Battle Blaze On Secor Road In Ossining OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining firefighters are at 29 Secor Road, battling a fire that started in an attic. Tuesday morning. Ossining fire officials said multiple departments are providing mutual aid. Ossining police announced Secor Road was closed while firefighters battled the blaze.

Yorktown Remains On High Alert After Signs Of Bear In Area YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- While the possible Yorktown bear remains elusive, officials are advising safety first for residents. On Friday, Yorktown police reported signs of a bear on the loose in the Croton Heights area of Yorktown near routes 118 and 129. Despite not seeing the bear, officials saw footprints in the snow and bird feeders appear to have been tampered with. On Monday, Lt. Ossining Resident Finds Passion In The Pool OSSINING, N.Y. -- For Ossining resident Fern Quezada, fixing pools is a family affair. Quezada fixes and repairs pool leaks, in an industry where women are not very common. Quezada's late father started repairing pool leaks after he retired from the police department in New Paltz. Briarcliff High School Student Publishes Novel With Dad BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- For Briarcliff High School student Erynn Altabef, 16, her new published novel came from wanting to spend more time with her dad. Altabef and her father Jeff's new book "Wind Catcher: A Chosen Novel" was released Monday. The book is the first book in a three-book deal. Yorktown Resident Participating In Pancreatic Cancer Walk In Rye YORKTOWN, N.Y. --- For Rachel Katz, it's all about keeping the memory of her late aunt Judith alive. Katz will join more than 1,000 people in the Lustgarten Foundation's sixth annual Westchester Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk April 19 at Rye Playland Park.
