An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Village In Shock After Ex-Briarcliff Officer Accused In Quadruple Homicide BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The fact that a man accused of killing four people worked as a police officer for the Village of Briarcliff Manor is not a headline most residents expected to see. Nicholas Tartagalione was indicted earlier this week for allegedly killing four men execution-style in an Orange County bar over a cocaine deal that went bad. Knicks Honor Lakeland Grad Cullen Malzo For Heroics After Mahopac Crash Cullen Malzo, the Mahopac teen who rescued two teenaged girls from drowning, was honored by his favorite basketball team. The 19-year-old Malzo, received a surprise visit from Knicks legends John Starks and Larry Johnson at Walter Panas High School on Dec. 9 and was also recognized Thursday night at Madison Square Garden during the Knicks' game vs. the Orlando Magic. Ossining PD Hands Out Cookies, Not Traffic Tickets To 'Make Spirits Bright' OSSINING, N.Y. -- For once, people in Ossining were glad they got pulled over by the police. Ossining Police who stopped motorists committing minor traffic offenses last week gave them cookies from Del Sol Sweet Bakery and $5 gift certificates from First Village Coffee.and instead of giving them tickets, Anyone with kids in the car got a Jr. Badge from the Ossining Police Department. Good Samaritan Pays Off Layaways At New Rochelle Toy Store NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle has its own Secret Santa. For the second straight year, a Good Samaritan, who wishes to remain anonymous, made sure customers at TP Toys and Accessories, at 572 North Avenue, had a Merry Christmas by paying off the layaway for 13 families. After paying off the layaway, he donated several hundred dollars to the store to help families that couldn't afford to buy toys. Yorktown Native Dan Scavino Gets Post In Donald Trump Administration Yorktown native and Hopewell Junction resident Dan Scavino and Greenwich's Hope Hicks will be working at the White House next year. The two were named to President-Elect Donald Trump's senior communications team after working on his presidential campaign. Ossining High School Principal Joshua Mandel Announces Retirement OSSINING, N.Y. -- It's going to be the end of an era at Ossining High School. Principal Joshua Mandel announced he is retiring at the conclusion of the 2016-2017 school year, according to a letter from Schools Superintendent Ray Sanchez.
