I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Greenburgh Board Discusses Sidewalks In Edgemont GREENBURGH, N.Y. – The Greenburgh Town Board is considering the installation of new sidewalks in Edgemont. Parents of children in in Old Edgemont, Cotswold and Southern Greenville have petitioned for sidewalks so their children can walk to school safely. The Board has to first vote on whether authorize a request for proposals from engineering services to design the sidewalks. It then has to explore funding, dependent on the availability of funds from different sources.

Pleasant Recreation Department sponsor this event, which marches from the Hawthorne Fire House to Hawthorne Elementary School. J. – Bergenfield High School senior Caoilin Ramsay has been named a National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalist. Ramsay is one of 1.5 million students who took the SAT/National Merit Scholarship Program and made it to the semi-final round of 16,000 -- less than 1% percent of U.S. high school seniors. Albom is the author of “Tuesdays With Morrie,” “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” and five other books.
