The Baltimore man who attacked three Asian-owned businesses over their masking requirements during the COVID pandemic is heading to prison for life. Darryl Doles was sentenced to life in prison with all but 30 years suspended for two counts of attempted murder, assault, and hate crime, Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan J. Bates announced on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Doles pleaded guilty to the charges in September 2023. Police have identified the Pennsylvania driver who was killed in a crash with a Tesla early on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Anne Arundel County Police responded to Annapolis Road (Route 175) at Piedmont Lane in Hanover around 7:40 a.m. after a report of a multi-vehicle crash. A trio of robbers asked their victim for a cigarette before tackling him and stealing his medication outside a hotel in Maryland Wednesday evening, Feb. 6, police said. A Route 1 crash involving four vehicles killed one driver and hospitalized two others on Tuesday night, Feb. 6, police said. The crash occurred just north of Country Meadows Lane in Laurel shortly before 9:45 p.m., according to the Howard County Police Department. A 1995 Chevy 1500 was heading northbound when it crossed the median and struck a southbound 2007 Pontiac Solstice.
