Darien To Commemorate Anniversary Of Sept. 11 Attacks On Monday DARIEN, Conn. -- The public is invited to attend the town of Darien's annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony this Monday, hosted by the Monuments and Ceremonies Commission with Commissioner Phil Kraft serving as the master of ceremonies. Recognize Them? Trumbull Police Seek Mall Jewel Thieves TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Trumbull Police are seeking help identifying three people connected to the theft of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Police responded to the Westfield Trumbull Mall on Saturday, Sept. 2 for the theft of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, police said. The initial investigation led to three unknown persons who were captured on surveillance video, police said. Police need help identifying the three people. Shelton Man Suffers Burns After Fire Breaks Out In Garage SHELTON, Conn. -- A Shelton man was injured during a garage fire on Edgewood Avenue Thursday night, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel. Fire officials told the Valley Independent Sentinel that the fire broke out at around 8:45 p.m. at a detached garage at a home on Edgewood Avenue. First responders arrived and found the Shelton man, who was in his 20s and lived at the address, the Valley Independent Sentinel reported. Swastika Graffiti Discovered At Ridgefield High School RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A swastika was etched into a classroom table at Ridgefield High School this week, according to the Ridgefield Press.After the discovery of the swastika, Principal Stacey Gross sent an email to parents, students and the school community, emphasizing that the vandalism is intended to offend and demoralize people, and that it is not considered acceptable behavior, the Ridgefield Press reported. Suspect Arrested In Multiple Stamford Restaurant Burglaries STAMFORD, Conn. -- Police have arrested a suspect who is believed to have broken into several Stamford restaurants over the past week, hitting some of them more than once, according to the Stamford Advocate. Norwalk Man Charged With Hitting Tree, Driving Off Without Tires NORWALK, Conn. — A 45-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on Thursday after apparently hitting a tree and driving off without two of his tires, according to the Hour. A police sergeant heard a loud grinding noise coming from a car driving on Westport Avenue at around 1:30 a.m., and saw that the front and rear passenger-side tires were gone, according to the Hour. Police: Newtown Teenage Girl Assaulted At Home By Strange Man NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A 16-year-old Newtown girl was shoved by a strange man who came to the door of her Toddy Hill Road home on Wednesday, according to police.
