Teen Chased Through Trumbull Mall And Assaulted; Two Teens Arrested TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Two 14-year-olds boys from Bridgeport were arrested and charged with chasing down and assaulting a 15-year-old from Trumbull who had made rude remarks to a 13-year-old girl at the mall, according to police. Police said that at around 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, they were dispatched to the Westfield Trumbull Mall on a report of a fight. They found mall security guards attending to the 15-year-old boy, who had been assaulted, and learned the boy had been in the mall and had made a rude remark to a 13-year-old girl, police said. Man Rescued From Greenwich Home After Carbon Monoxide Poisoning GREENWICH, Conn. — A man was rescued from a home on Old Kings Highway in Greenwich on Saturday after a carbon monoxide exposure, according to Greenwich Time. Police and firefighters responded to the home on Saturday on a report of an alarm and an unconscious male, Greenwich Time reported. Fumes were believed to be coming from a car in the garage, according to Greenwich Time. Norwalk Fire Officials Offer High Wind Safety Tips In Advance Of Jose NORWALK, Conn. -- Much of southern Connecticut remains under a Tropical Storm watch as Hurricane Jose continues to make its way north, and Norwalk fire officials are warning residents to take steps to keep themselves safe in the event of strong winds. Danbury Mother Accused Of Abandoning Baby To Seek Mental Health Evaluation DANBURY, Conn. -- Attorneys for a Danbury woman charged with abandoning her newborn baby earlier this year could seek a mental health evaluation in her case, according to WLAD. Anny Castillo, 22, was arrested in July and charged with abandonment of a child under the age of 6 years, risk of injury, and cruelty to persons. Stamford Woman, 31, Killed In Sunday Morning Crash On The Merritt STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 31-year-old Stamford woman was killed when her car went off the road while traveling on the Merritt in Stamford on Sunday morning. Bianca Diaz of Stamford was driving a 1997 Honda northbound on Route 15 between exits 35 and 36 in Stamford at around 9 a.m. Sunday when she lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons, state police said. Stratford Woman Injured After Car Hits Barriers On Merritt STRATFORD, Conn. -- A 32-year-old Stratford woman was seriously injured when her car went off the road and hit two barrier beams on the Merritt on Sunday, according to state police. The woman was traveling southbound on Route 15 near exit 53 in Stratford at around 6:30 a.m. Sunday when she lost control of her 2001 Mazda. It went off the road, hit a wooden beam barrier on the left shoulder, then spun and hit a wooden beam barrier on the right shoulder. It then came to a rest facing north on the exit 53 ramp. Tropical Storm Watch Issued For Southern Fairfield County Ahead of Jose FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for southern Fairfield County ahead of Hurricane Jose, which is expected to pass the area Tuesday night into Wednesday and bring with it the potential for tropical storm force winds, coastal flooding, and heavy rainfall. Brookfield Police Department Promotes Three Officers BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- The Brookfield Police Department promoted three officers in a ceremony on Wednesday night. Sgt. Rosado was promoted from the rank of corporal to sergeant. Cpl. Fiege was promoted from patrolman to corporal. Cpl. Campbell was promoted from patrolman to corporal. Westport To Remove "No Turn On Red" Signs From Two Intersections WESTPORT, Conn. -- The town of Westport will remove "No Turn on Red" signs from two intersections after receiving preliminary approval from the state. The signs will be removed from the intersection where Main Street meets Myrtle Avenue and Kings Highway North, as well as the intersection where Main Street meets Avery Place and Parker Harding Plaza.
