North Carolina Man Busted On Drug Charges In Darien After Traffic Stop DARIEN, Conn. -- Two North Carolina men were arrested in Darien after they were found driving in a car with the wrong license plate and a number of pills were found inside. At around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, an officer saw a 2001 Chevy Blazer driving east on the Post Road, and the passenger did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt, police said. UPS Deliveryman Reports Being Bitten By Roaming Dog At Darien Home DARIEN, Conn. -- A UPS driver was bit by one of three roaming dogs at a home on Old Kings Highway North in Darien, police said. Police were dispatched to 158 Old Kings Highway North at around 5:40 p.m. on Friday, July 21. The UPS employee told police that the home has three roaming dogs, and that he was attempting to delivery a package when he was chased off by one of the dogs. Burglar Strikes Unlocked Old Greenwich Homes GREENWICH, Conn. — A burglar entered two unlocked homes in Old Greenwich last week and tried to get into a third before being scared off by an alarm, according to Greenwich Time. Woman Charged With DUI In Darien After Hitting Pole With Child In Backseat DARIEN, Conn. -- A Norwalk woman who tried to leave the scene of an accident in Darien after backing her car into a light pole with a child in the backseat was arrested on drunken driving charges, according to police. NY Man Trying To Cash Fake Check Leaves Real Wallet Behind At Westport Bank WESTPORT, Conn. -- A man unsuccessfully tried to cash a fraudulent check at a Westport bank using a fake ID, but accidentally left his wallet and real ID behind at the scene, according to police. A bank teller told police that at around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, a man later identified as 55-year-old Steven Digsby of North Babylon, N.Y. entered the Bank of America on Post Road East in Westport. Stamford Man Charged With Punching Child, Swinging Samurai Sword At Family STAMFORD, Conn. — A 44-year-old Stamford man punched a special needs child in the face and then threatened the child's family with a samurai sword, according to the Stamford Advocate.
