UI Customers In Trumbull May Experience Brief Outage This Weekend BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Some residents of Bridgeport, Trumbull and Fairfield may experience a brief power outage this Saturday while United Illuminating conducts system testing. UI will conduct system testing at its Old Town electrical substation in Bridgeport to maintain the reliability of its energy grid, the utility company announced. The procedure will be conducted between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26. Redding Police Seek Woman In Fraudulent Use Of Credit Card Case REDDING, Conn. -- The Redding Police Department is seeking the public's help identifying a woman in connection to the fraudulent use of a credit card in the Norwalk and Stamford areas. Man Dies Of Tick-Borne Disease Near Putnam A New Milford, Conn., man died earlier this month of a tick-borne illness that is becoming more common in the area, according to the News-Times. Michael Yoder, 55, died on Aug. 8 of liver and kidney failure that resulted from babesiosis, which is commonly contracted from infected deer ticks, according to the News-Times. Yoder was an avid gardener who regularly checked for ticks, but he began exhibiting signs of a stomach bug, and by the time he was diagnosed with babesiosis, it was too late, the News-Times reported. Would-Be Car Thieves Slam Into Garage Door Of Darien Home DARIEN, Conn. -- Someone trying to steal a car from a Darien home this past weekend accidentally drove the car into the home's garage door, according to police. The attempted theft coincided with several motor vehicle burglaries that occurred in the area during the same time period. Police: Darien Man Arrested After Striking His Elderly Father DARIEN, Conn. -- A 41-year-old Darien man was charged with hitting his elderly father during an argument last week, according to police. Officers were dispatched to a Greenwood Avenue home on Tuesday, Aug. 15 for a welfare check of an elderly man. A nutritionist working with the man reported that he had witnessed an argument between his client and his client's adult son, police said. Norwalk Police Charge Bridgeport Man With Assault Of Juvenile NORWALK, Conn. — A 44-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested in Norwalk after a juvenile reported that the man assaulted him, according to the Hour. Stamford Teens Charged With Stealing Mountain Bike At Knifepoint STAMFORD, Conn. -- Two Stamford teens were arrested after police said they stole a mountain bike a knifepoint on Tuesday night. Two juvenile males were waling in the area of 310 Elm St. when they were approached by two other juveniles, one whom brandished a knife, police said. Bridgeport Teens Caught With Stolen Cars In Darien DARIEN, Conn. –Two Bridgeport teens were arrested after police found them in a stolen car in Darien early Tuesday morning, and another stolen car was found abandoned in town, according to police. Stamford Driver With Fake Driver's License Busted For Forgery In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- A Stamford man gave a police officer a fake driver's license after he was pulled over in Darien for driving with the wrong license plate last week, according to police. At around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17 an officer saw a green Subaru driving on Post Road without a front license plate.
