Norwalk Police Arrest Five On Cocaine Charges After DUI Stop NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk man was arrested on drunken driving charges and four passengers in his car were arrested on drug charges after police found nearly 10 grams of cocaine, according to the Hour. Road Work To Be Conducted On Simpaug Turnpike In Redding REDDING, Conn. -- Drivers might want to avoid Simpaug Turnpike in Redding on Tuesday due to anticipated work.The Highway Department will be working on Simpaug Turnpike from Station Road to Marchant Road on Tuesday, Aug. 29, weather permitting. Incarcerated Suspect Charged With Refusing To Give Westport Cops DNA Sample WESTPORT, Conn. -- A New Haven man who is currently incarcerated was slapped with additional charges after refusing to provide Westport detectives with a DNA sample. Sherman Miles, 59, of New Haven was arrested on Aug. 2, 2016 on charges connected to a November 2015 burglary at a residence on Main Street. Sacred Heart Greenwich Student Killed In Westchester Murder/Suicide GREENWICH, Conn. — A student at Sacred Heart Greenwich was apparently killed by her father in an apparent double murder/suicide that occurred late Friday morning in Northern Westchester County, N.Y., police said. Norwalk Man Charged With Robbing Liquor Store With Butcher Knife NORWALK, Conn. — A Norwalk man was charged Thursday with robbing a Main Avenue liquor store with a butcher knife a few days earlier, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that at around 8:15 p.m. on Monday, a man walked into the World of Beverages on Main Avenue and brandished a large butcher knife at the owner, who was eating dinner with his wife. Westport Police: Bridgeport Man Gave Fake Name After Crash WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was charged with giving a fake name after crashing his car in Westport on Monday. Police were dispatched on Monday to a report of a motor vehicle accident without injuries at the intersection of Post Road East and Sherwood Island Connector. Car Crashes Into Pole On Cross Hill Road In Monroe MONROE, Conn. -- One person was seriously injured after a car crashed into a pole and tree on Cross Hill Road in Monroe Friday morning. Firefighters from the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, the Stepney Fire Department and the Stevenson Fire Department all responded to the scene of the single car accident. The sole occupant of the car had serious injuries and required extrication. Firefighters freed the driver, who was taken to the hospital by Monroe EMS.
