Stratford Cornhole Tournament To Benefit Muscular Dystrophy Association STRATFORD, Conn. -- Tickets are still available for a cornhole tournament/fundraiser Saturday set to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).The event, which costs $20 to enter, is being sponsored by the Stratford Fire Department, which has scheduled the tournament at Two Roads Brewing Co. to begin at noon on Saturday. According to a Facebook post advertising the event, the $20 entry fee comes with a beer, and prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. New Greenwich Firefighter Takes Oath At Town Hall GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Fire Department grew by one on Monday when its newest firefighter was sworn in at Town Hall.Will Strain is set to begin the the Connecticut Fire Academy in the coming weeks, according to a post on the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Facebook page. Woman, 23, Involved In I-287 Crash Had BAC Twice Legal Limit, Police Say A 23-year-old Valhalla woman accused of driving with a blood alcohol content greater than twice the legal limit has been charged with driving while intoxicated, according to police.Jennifer L. Puchir was behind the wheel of a Nissan Altima on Tuesday night when the car crashed into the center median between exits 11 and 12 on Interstate 287 in Port Chester, state police said in a statement. Apparent Burglary Attempt Under Investigation In Yonkers YONKERS, N.Y. -- Yonkers police were busy early Sunday morning investigating an apparent burglary attempt at a Dunwoodie Street home, according to News 12.Officers responded to 216 Dunwoodie St. about midnight, according to News 12, which reported that a family returned to the home late Saturday to find the front door had been forced open. Ramapo Police Respond To 100 Calls, Arrest 4 Teens At Tilcon Quarry RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police had a busy day Saturday, responding to more than 100 calls, including 13 medical emergencies, 12 alarm activations and eight incidents in which arrests were made. Among those incidents was a trespassing call at the Tilcon Quarry in Suffern, police said.
