Join Pawling Library For 'International Games Day' PAWLING, N.Y. -- On most days, playing around at the library could be construed as a procrastination technique. That won't be the case Saturday. The Pawling Library has scheduled a celebration of all games on Saturday to coincide with International Games Day, according to organizers. Shane Macdonald Named Pelham Athlete Of The Week PELHAM, N.Y. -- A Pelham Memorial High School senior who led his football team during an Oct. 29 playoff game has been named the district's Athlete of the Week. On defense, Shane Macdonald had three solo tackles and assisted on six others during the playoff game against Gorton, according to the district. Not to be outdone on offense, the teen caught a 32-yard touchdown in the same game. Despite his best efforts, Macdonald could not lead the team to victory; Pelham fell to Gorton by a score of 39-22. Pascack Valley Swimmer Commits To Boston University HILLSDALE, N.J. – A senior athlete at Pascack Valley High School has signed a letter of intent to swim for Boston University, according to the school district. Cassidy Freeman had a decorated swim career as a Pascack Valley High School Indian, earning first All North Jersey Team honors for the 100 Butterfly, second team All Bergen County for the 100 Butterfly, and third team All Bergen County for the 500 Freestyle swim in her sophomore year, according to the district. Watchdog Group Sues Beacon School District Over Release Of Records BEACON, N.Y. -- The Beacon City School District is being sued by a conservative watchdog group that claims the district “never formally responded” to a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Bedford Police Officer Meets With Cub Scouts Before Hike BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Bedford Police Officer Doug Romero met with Bedford/Pound Ridge Cub Scouts Pack 170 recently, before the young students took off on a hike at Mianus River Gorge.
