For Thanksgiving, U.S. Attorney Urges Connecticut To Stand Up To Hate
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – In a message to state residents Wednesday, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut Deirdre M. Daly urged all people to “stand up to hate.”
“This Thanksgiving, particularly after our highly contested presidential election, is a time to reflect on our country’s bedrock principles,” Daly said in the statement. “These values include our commitment to tolerance and cultural understanding, our celebration of diversity and our respect for our fellow citizens, no matter their race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or political viewpoint.”

Newtown’s Erardi Named CT Superintendent Of The Year
NEWTOWN, Conn. – The schools administrator tasked with opening up the new Sandy Hook School earlier this year was named Superintendent of the Year, according to the Connecticut Post.
Joseph Erardi received the honor, in part, because of his “quiet, confident” leadership, said Keith Alexander, Newtown school board president, according to the Post, which reported that the award was given by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education and the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents.

West Nyack Teen Named As 2016 Westchester Teen Idol Finalist
WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- A West Nyack teen has been named as a finalist in the 2016 Westchester Teen Idol competition.
Helen Smith is one of 25 contestants set to compete at the Irvington Town Hall Theater, according to a statement from PMT Productions, which runs the competition.
Westchester Teen Idol, which is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 26, is to be judged by Tony-nominated, "American Idol" finalist Constantine Maroulis, Broadway performer Angela Decicco and the Taconic Opera's Dan Montez.

Mount Kisco Arts Council Offering 'Pop Up' Galleries Through Mid-January
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – The Mount Kisco Arts Council is to open a “pop up” art gallery this weekend, the first of several in the coming months that will specifically highlight the works of Mount Kisco artists.
Among those whose work will be included in the series are Alan Reingold, Rich Alexander, Cheryl Alexander Fitzgibbons, Andre Ferrera and John Rice.
The opening pop up event is scheduled for 1 – 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, according to organizers.
Similar "pop up" events will occur at the Arts Council’s gallery, 10 South Moger Ave., through mid-January, according to organizers.
