Mamaroneck's Girls Relay Team Smashes School Record
NEW YORK -- In an exciting 4x800-meter relay in which the lead changed hands multiple times, the Mamaroneck girls squad shattered the school’s record by 6 seconds, according to lohud.com.
The team, composed of Shari Rauls, Lauren Shpiz, Lauren Chapey and Katie DeVore, proved victorious in the Armory Track Invitational race Saturday with a time of 9 minutes, 1.81 seconds, according to lohud.com.
Local teams from Bronxville, John Jay and Ursuline high schools also competed in the race, finishing fourth, eighth and 11th, respectively, according to lohud.com.

Putnam Health Department Pushes 'No Smoking, No Vaping' Message
BREWSTER, N.Y. – Putnam County officials are moving ahead with an expansion of the county’s smoking policy that makes illegal the use of electronic cigarettes in public places, according to a statement from the Putnam County Department of Health.
In a statement issued Monday, Feb. 8, the Department of Health said that use of electronic cigarettes, commonly called “vaping,” is not necessarily a healthy practice.
