Mahopac Man Faces 3 Counts Of Drug Possession, Police Say
MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A Mahopac man is facing three misdemeanor counts of drug possession after police found him with heroin, cocaine and Suboxone, a drug used to treat opiate addiction, according to authorities.
Putnam County Sheriff's deputies saw Michael Reo, 36, of Bloomer Road, "snorting" what is believed to be a controlled substance while he was sitting in parked car on Feb. 6, according to authorities.

HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- While families in Flint, Mich., struggle through a water crisis that has exposed thousands to increased lead levels, a local school district is taking steps to help.
The Greenburgh Central School District's Parent Teacher Association Council and Woodlands High School's Environmental Club are collecting cases of bottled water, water bottles, pitchers and jugs that will be sent directly to the city of 100,000 people.

Ramapo Central School District Weighs Tax Break For Veterans
RAMAPO, N.Y. – The Ramapo Central School District will hold a public hearing next week to discuss the idea of offering a tax break to veterans, according to lohud.com.
If Ramapo does opt to move forward with the idea, it will join the Nyack, Clarkstown, North Rockland and South Orangetown school districts, all of which have approved such measures, according to lohud.com.
