CT State Police Asking Public For Help After Man Found Shot To Death Inside Car Police are seeking the help of any witnesses to a fatal shooting on I-91. The shooting took place around 7:35 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 29, in Hartford County, Connecticut State Police said. Area Man Shot For Second Time In Months Not Cooperating, Police Say A man who was shot in the area had been shot just months earlier in the shoulder. The shooting took place around 12:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, in Sullivan County at 36 York Avenue in Monticello. Officers responded to the area for a report of a shoting and found the 25-year-old Monticello man with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to Lt. Mark Johnstone of the Monticello Police. "The victim refused to cooperate with investigating officers and was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Orange County for treatment," Johnstone said. Bus Carrying Inmates Becomes Engulfed In Flames In Hudson Valley Screams filled the air as a bus carrying prisoners between correction facilities caught fire while traveling in the area. The crash took place around 7:45 p.m., Friday, Aug. 27 in Dutchess County on Route 9D by the overpass in Fishkill, said the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. The bus stopped and was safely evacuated, the department said. Contractor Scammed Fairfield County Woman Out Of $50K, Police Say A Fairfield County woman says she was scammed out of $50,000 by an area contractor. Venus Rogers, of Stratford, who is a full-time caregiver for her disabled daughter, said she hired a Stamford-based contractor to fix her home after it was flooded in November. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed For Felony DWI Following Traffic Stop, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for alleged felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content (BAC) more than twice the legal limit. Orange County resident Hosmar J. Garcia Giron, age 23, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 23 during a traffic stop on I-87 in the town of Cornwall. During the stop, Giron, of Newburgh, was found to be allegedly intoxicated.
