She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Woman Killed In Head-On Crash In Region A woman was killed during a head-on crash in Western Massachusetts. It happened in Hampden County around 11:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, in West Springfield on Memorial Avenue. Upon arrival, West Springfield Police found both vehicles in the eastbound travel lane with heavy frontend damage. Police said that it appears one of the drivers crossed the double-yellow line. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Baystate Medical Center. The woman died from her injuries, the driver of the second vehicle was also injured but is expected to survive, police said.

Long Island Woman Robs 7-Eleven, Injures Worker, Police Say A Long Island woman was nabbed after allegedly robbing a 7-Eleven store and injuring an employee. The incident took place in Nassau County in Hicksville around 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, when the woman grabbed cash from an employee's hand and a fight took place between several employees and the woman, police said. According to detectives, a 63-year-old male victim, called 911 to report the robbery that just occurred at the store located at 11 East Old Country Road. Truck Left Partially Hanging Off Edge Of Bridge In Fatal Crash In Region One person was killed and another injured during a single-vehicle crash in the region. It happened around 11:25 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, in Worcester County. A Freightliner truck northbound on I-495 in Milford veered out of its lane, struck the median guardrail, and rode up and over it, coming to rest approximately halfway off the bridge over Route 16, Massachusetts State Police said. Police Chief In Northern Westchester Calls It A Career A police chief in Northern Westchester is calling it a career later this month. City of Peekskill Police Department Chief Don Halmy announced his plan to retire as of Saturday, Sept. 25, after more than 22 years with the department. Girl Rescued From 13-Inch Drainpipe In Westchester, Police Say A Westchester County girl was rescued from a 13-inch drainpipe after a passerby heard her shouting for help. The incident took place around 6:55 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, in Mamaroneck. A Village of Mamaroneck police officer conducting post-storm patrol was alerted by persons shouting for help at the corner of Old White Plains Road and Center Avenue. 31-Year-Old Killed In Two-Vehicle Area Crash A 31-year-old man was killed after being entrapped during a two-vehicle crash. The crash took place around 5:15 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 5, in Amenia, said Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. CT Tornado Touchdown Confirmed By National Weather Service National Weather Service officials in Connecticut have confirmed a tornado touched down in the state. The Enhanced Fujita Scale EF-0 tornado occurred around 4:10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, in the middle of a severe storm in Tolland County in the town of Coventry. The tornado, which reached speeds of 75 mph, traveled for nearly 80 yards before it died out, the weather service said. Man Found Dead In Parking Lot On Long Island Police are asking the public for help after a man was found dead in a downtown parking lot on Long Island.
