Man, 23, Jumps To His Death From Bear Mountain Bridge, State Police Say
A Hudson Valley man who jumped to his death from the Bear Moutain Bridge has been identified by New York State Police.
Orange County resident, Justin J. Griffith, age 23, of Highland Falls, died around 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 22 after jumping from the bridge near Cortlandt, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
His vehicle was found near the bridge, Hicks said.
A search on Friday failed to find his body. His body was recovered by the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team on Saturday, Oct. 23.
No signs of foul play have been discovered.
Man Sentenced For Trafficking Drugs To Connecticut
An out-of-state man has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for trafficking drugs into Connecticut.
Leonard C Boyle, acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Noe Castro, age 51, of Phoenix, Arizona, was sentenced Wednesday, Oct. 20.
According to court documents and statements made in court, in late 2018, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Haven Task Force and New Haven Police Department began investigating an organization that was responsible for trafficking kilogram-quantities of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine from Mexico and Arizona to the New Haven area.…
Man, Woman Accused Of Stealing $1,140 Worth Of Merchandise From CT Store
A man and woman were charged with larceny after allegedly stealing more than $1,140 worth of goods from a Connecticut Hollister store.
Andres Alvarado, age 28, of Queen Village, and Graciela Novoa, age 57, of Queens, were arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 6 by the Milford Police in New Haven County.
Milford Police responded to the store located at 1201 Boston Post Road at the Connecticut Post Mall on the report of a shoplifting that just occurred.

Man Seriously Injured During Large Fight At Restaurant In Fairfield County, Police Say
A Fairfield County man who allegedly seriously injured another man during a large fight is facing assault charges.
Antonio Hernandez-Alvarez, age 27, of Stamford, turned himself in to the Stamford Police Department on an assault charge on Thursday, Oct. 21.
According to Capt. Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police Department, Hernandez-Alvarez was involved in a large fight at the Riviera Maya restaurant and bar, in June.
During the fight, Hernandez-Alvarez allegedly hit a 27-year-old man, knocking him out and leaving him with a serious brain bleed, Conklin said.
