The 18-year-old man was found around 9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25 after Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives responded to a 911 call of a shooting at 244 Bayview Drive in Mastic Beach. Man Threatens People With Knife In Area, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for allegedly threatening others with a knife and then fighting with police. Dutchess County resident Gary Hricewich, age 33, of Hyde Park, was arrested around 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24 after police responded to a report of a man threatening people with a knife, said Chief Robert Benson, of the Hyde Park Police. Flight 976 had departed New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport around 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27, and was headed to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, but was diverted to Denver because of the incident, the airline said in a statement. Fairfield County Man Rescued After Crashing Pick Up Truck In Pond First responders rescued a Fairfield County driver after his pickup truck was found partially submerged in a pond following a crash with another vehicle. The incident took place at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25 in Easton. Officers responded to Banks Road for a report of a vehicle crash, according to Chief of Easton Police Richard Doyle. Christopher Foxton, age 38, of Greenwood Lake in Orange County, was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 16, said police. According to police, Foxton, formerly of Ringwood, New Jersey, walked into the Chase Bank on Windermere Avenue and demanded money while displaying a firearm,  the Greenwood Lake Police Department said. Man Sentenced In Region For Generating $550,000 By Filing False Tax Returns A 39-year-old man was sentenced to 15 months in prison in federal court in the region for tax offenses including filing false tax returns that netted him more than $550,000. Cory Kizer, of the state of Florida, was sentenced in Springfield in Hampden County on Tuesday, Oct. 26 after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and eight counts of theft of public money.
