She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Area Resident Seriously Injured In Crash That Caused I-84 Closure Police are asking the public for help with information regarding a 4-vehicle crash that caused life-threatening injuries to one passenger and closed I-84 for hours. The crash took place around 2:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, on I-84 in Danbury, said the Connecticut State Police. According to troopers, the crash occurred when the four vehicles were traveling west on I-84 and traffic began to slow for congestion. Man Missing In Water Rescued By Fairfield County Police A Fairfield County man was rescued from the water by police after he was reported missing. The incident took place around 6 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, in Westport, said Lt. David Wolf, of the Westport Police. According to Wold, Westport Police officers responded to Saugatuck Shores on a report of an elderly male who was missing. Long Island Bank Robber Makes Off With Cash, Eludes Capture Police on Long Island are asking the public for help locating a suspect who allegedly robbed a Sterling National Bank. The robbery took place around 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 8 in Merrick said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, a man entered the Sterling National Bank, located at 2090 Merrick Road, approached a teller, and handed a note demanding money. Fairfield County Man Shot Dead Steps Away From Nightclub, Police Say A Fairfield County man was found shot to death just steps away from a popular nightclub he had just left. Raheem Lynch, age 24, of Bridgeport, was killed around 2 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, just minutes after exiting, Mystique nightclub at 2456 Main St., in Bridgeport. According to Scott Appleby, director of the Bridgeport Emergency Management, the shooting occurred only a few doors away from the club. Suspect Nabbed After Stabbing Leaves CT Teen In Critical Condition A Connecticut man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a teen during a domestic violence incident leaving him in critical condition. Litchfield County resident David Cruz, age 28, of Torrington, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 7, for the stabbing which took place around 1:50 p.m. on Highland Avenue in Torrington. IDs Released For Victims Of Double-Fatal Hudson Valley Fire The identities have been released for two people who were killed in a massive Hudson Valley fire. Dutchess County residents Jenny Yang, age 24, and Wangdi Tamang, age 30, bother of Millerton, were killed around 8 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, when they could not escape a house fire on Route 22, said the New York State Police. Mail Stolen From Residential Mailboxes Found In Neighboring Town In Fairfield County Police in one Fairfield County town are warning residents that mail was stolen from numerous mailboxes after finding mail along a roadway. The incident took place on Sunday, Nov. 7, when Wilton Police contacted the New Canaan Police department to report finding mail on the side of a road. Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled For Western Mass, State Police Say If you are thinking about drinking and driving in Western Massachusetts, think again as one county is setting up sobriety checkpoints. Colonel Christopher S. Mason, superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, announced that a “sobriety checkpoint” will be implemented in Hampden County over the upcoming weekend. Bicyclist Critically Wounded By Hit-Run Driver In CT Crash A bicyclist was critically wounded after being hit by a vehicle in Connecticut. The crash took place around 5:40 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 7, in New Haven on College Street, between Grove Street and Wall Street.
